Detailed Product Description

Italian farmhouse located in Sicily, was founded in 1997. The restoration works started in 1995 for the old shepherd house together with the ones concerning the shed for farm-carts, the stables and the hay-loft. The so-called "house" was, in reality, a ruin (without roof and covered, for the main part, by bushes and other typical "Mediterranean Spot" wild plants. The farmhouse offers the following services:

CATERING The restaurant consists of two rooms with a total amount of 80 sits. This is the result of an old shepherd house restoration; the old kitchen, now operative again, can offer a menu inspired, because of its simplicity nature, to the rich, tasty and healthy typical Mediterranean dishes.

OVERNIGHT STAY For the overnight stay the Country Inn can offer six characteristic lodges. Each of them has two rooms with bathroom, for a total amount of 24 beds, accurately furnished following the country style, endowed with: Air conditioning Heating system TV Covered verandas furnished with a table, some benches and chairs Lodges have a garden within with toys for children.

EXCURSIONS One can experience: Guided excursions by horse throughout our characteristic countryside, surrounded by rocky scenarios, in the ancient and amazing Anapo valley. Nature-historical guided excursions, on foot, to the Anapo Valleyreserve and to the Pantalica Necropolis, the biggest in Europe; to reach than the old railway station where you can pay a visit to a permanent show regarding the Anapo Valley's flora, fauna and anthropology. The show allows you to discover traditional activities by everyday items and equipments used in the past.

TYPICAL PRODUCTION At the Ranch it is possible to buy: Self-made products, Olive oil, salty olives, capers, dried tomatoes in oil, Free-range hens' eggs, fig, orange, peach and pear marmalade Liqueurs: limoncello and cedrino Nerby firms' products Fresh and salty ricotta, cheeses wine thyme, orange-blossom, milfoil and carob honey from the Iblei Mountains. Terracotta and ceramics Typical items hand-decorated by an art ceramic master.

COURSES Course organisation for: western ride basket handcrafting Italian and Latin language (for foreign people) Decoration on different shapes and clay manipulation.
